Video art #1 – morphing – Phillip Scott Johnson tribute.

Presenting ‘Women in art and film’ – mans appreciation of woman.

From the age of dawn, man has indulged the passion of art. From cave drawings – stone sculptures of the Greek Minoan and Roman empires, through the tapestry’s of biblical times and the masters of oil and watercolors. Pictorial editions of the holy bible and the Koran were emblazoned with colorful drawings.

There are many forms of art, including architecture and design. Photography is an art form which led to the invention of cinema. Technology has now enabled the practice of electronic art in the structure of softwares like Adobe photoshop and after effects.

Music is also a fine art and I feel blessed with the ability to visualize audio and graphical movements. Phillip Scott Johnson is an absolute master in the art of visual flow (morphing). Imagine the work involved in piecing the portraits and photographs together in the video above. Facial expressions and physique have to be matched in order for the scenes to marry into each other.

Digital software has made it possible but only the imagination and hard work of a master artist can create it.  Acknowledgment must also go to George Micheal and Virgin  records for the beautiful soundtrack “Safe”.

Make a video-with a difference.

After many experiments on creating videos with internal visual surrounds.   Static backgrounds – moving backgrounds and scrolling story lines.    I stumbled upon a web site that has successfully created software that provides “external visual surrounds”.

Subsequently, the process has been made far easier to implement the whole idea of creating videos with rounded corners – thus eliminating the boring black squares.

http://CURVED-CORNER-BOXES.COM/ The website is free to join – at this moment and actually so easy to apply a video, it is great fun.     You can either use the sites graphic backgrounds, or upload your own graphics, add text, in any color, and use their embed code to place on your own website.    The video above ‘ Will Smith – in Hancock’ was created using the red brick background and a flash scroller giving the story line in Italian.

From gathering the story – translating – making the scroller – placing the video in the widget and recording on Camtasia, took under one hour to process.

Video marketing- taboo humor part 1.

Every day life and the difference between man and woman, is a subject that is often talked about, yet rarely written about. Videos on the subject are even rarer – note – we are not talking of pornography here.

In relation to video marketing and web site construction, it is becoming more essential to embed videos as an attraction for your visitor. If the videos are humorous without being too far over the top, and changed regularly, your visitor may bookmark your site and return.

The video I have chosen to accompany this article is an excellent production, however it does include a few naughty words, so is therefore not suited for family viewing. It also leads up to a video selected for part two of this article.

Here is a quick joke on the subject (posted on Samantha Burn’s blog).

A man in a bar starts trying to impress a lovely young thing, who quickly tires of his advances. “Look,” she says, “I’ll bet you $100 you can’t pee higher up the alley wall than I can. If I win, you pay up and leave the bar. If you win, I’ll pay you, and then blow you right there in the alley.”

Thinking he has a sure win, he agrees, downs the rest of his beer for the extra pressure, then follows the girl and the rest of the bar’s patrons into the alley. The girl demurely drops her panties, then does a handstand, spreads her legs, and shoots a stream of steaming liquid ten feet up the wall. The crowd applauds. The man, realizing he has a tougher challenge than he thought, slowly drops his trousers then pulls his pitiful thing out of this boxers.

The girl, wagging a finger, seals his doom with the gentle statement, “Hey, buddy, no hands!”

How to edit a video-Part1(Soundtracks).

watch?v=CciX45ny_zI

As Street Kings (the movie), has hit TV & satellite advertising, the boys in the smoke filled room, dug up a twisted teaser that I made a while back. Questions were asked on what music did I use for the soundtrack. This is an embarrassment to me as – quite simply, I cannot recall the tunes. I was off my head at the time of creating – cut the track from an open source DJ mix, loved it and used it on the Street Kings trailer and also on an interpretation of – The real American gangster.

First up, my apologies must go to Fox Searchlight for messing about with their original soundtrack on the photo section of the video. However, being a video jockey, the need to create something different from the original, is paramount to a VJ production.

Once you have mastered the basics of video editing, what separates you from the amateurs is the ability to VISUALIZE. Take any sequence of any movie or TV show – walk away from it, then in your subconscious mind, imagine what soundtrack would compliment the visuals. This is the process of visualization, and when you master that, you shall achieve.

Global languages?

Circle of Life- Multilingual version – by Leyoria (Youtube).

The movie – Lion King- personifies the meaning of communication in the circle of life. An understanding that we should all embrace. Online communities are growing steadily through web 2.0 and social networking.

chartlang.gif

This chart from glreach.com provides an insight into online language populations, from sept 2004. Note that ‘English’ is the most widely used online language spoken for that period. Immediately we can see that, every product launched during that period, reached a potential of 35.2% of the world population, if produced only in English.

Reading it from the other side – the marketers of the product have failed to reach 64.8% of worldwide prospects. Some may argue that people from – let us say – Korea, are not going to be interested in their product. In my own humble opinion, that is taking the tunnel route – when you can’t see the wood for the trees – why bother?

Further analysis of online language population may reveal that – Asian language sites are exploding online to such an extent, that within a short time, they will equal the number of English speaking web sites. For example, as I write, I flipped over to Youtube and noticed – 15 Asian made videos positioned within the 1st 3 pages of most watched.

Each and every video that I have produced, has been embedded onto hundreds of Asian sites, as well as European sites. This happens to any video uploaded to Youtube, because they allow embedding to be copied. Should we be worried about the shift?

At this moment, I would say no – we should welcome the shift, and embrace all the people, as our own. In friendship and marketing, we should reach out to everyone. Personally, by realizing this phenomenon, I have made many friends with people, from all walks of life, and from every country in the world.

Once again, comments from this blog, shall be made in many different languages, to spread the word of friendship.
